Egernia depressa
The pygmy spiny tailed skink is endemic to Western Australia, Northern Territory, and South Australia. These social skinks live in small family groups in desert environments, feeding on insects, flowers, fruits, shoots, and leaves. Growing up to 6 inches long, they can inflate their bodies to jam themselves into crevices as predator evasion, with their spine-covered tails blocking the entrance. Each dorsal scale features three prominent spines, with the central spine being the largest. We produce captive bred animals in our USA facility. They are healthy, parasite-free, and thriving.
